AIPN

Updated: 12 minutes ago

I work at Life Saving Victoria as the Manager for Research and Evaluation, where I focus on enhancing the safety of people visiting Victoria’s waterways. I completed a PhD which focused on preventing alcohol-related drowning and have a Masters’ degree in Psychology. I sit on the Health Promotion Special Interest Group Committee for the PHAA; the Play It Safe By The Water committee in Victoria; and hold an affiliate Adjunct Research Fellow position with the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research at La Trobe University.

I became involved in injury prevention as a young lifeguard witnessing the positive impact of encouraging safe behaviours in aquatic environments. This, combined with my interest in psychology, fuelled my curiosity in exploring unsafe human behaviour leading to injury.

My favourite part about the AIPN is the diverse perspectives and the collaborative approach to addressing injury across various sectors.

A fact about me that might be a surprise is that I’m an avid Water Polo player and enjoy spending my weeknights training and competing.
