$3M Funding for Reducing Inequities in Injury Across the Life Course.

AIPN Life Member, Professor Rebecca Ivers, Head of School of Population Health at UNSW has received $3,0124,025 in the recently announced NHMRC Investigator grants round to undertake research to reduce the inequalities in injury across the life course.


The research aims to improve understanding of the burden of injury and risk factors within Australia and globally, as well as the development of culturally safe programs for the prevention and treatment of injury among Indigenous people, people from low and middle-income countries and culturally and diverse communities in Australia.


The project will include the co-design and evaluation of programs that prevent falls, hip fractures, and road injuries among diverse populations and fund PhD scholarships and training opportunities for upcoming injury researchers.
