Professor Rebecca Ivers is an injury epidemiologist and leading researcher in global health. She is the Director of the Injury Division at The George Institute and is Professor of Public Health at UNSW Sydney.
As Director, Rebecca designs and leads large observational studies and randomised trials focussing on injury in high-risk and disadvantaged populations in Australia and in low and middle income countries globally. Her work in this area has led to improved understandings relating to the burden of, and risk factors for, injury in many countries and has also informed policies for improving safety and reducing motor vehicle related injury globally. Rebecca also leads a program of work on prevention and care of injury in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
In 2014, Rebecca was named in the Australian Financial Review and Westpac list of Australia’s Top 100 Women of Influence in the innovation category.
