Dr Ben Beck is Deputy Head of Prehospital, Emergency and Trauma Research in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. Ben leads a large body of trauma and injury prevention research, with a focus on vulnerable road users, neurotrauma, improving trauma systems and reducing preventable deaths. As a keen cyclist, he has a particular focus on developing injury prevention strategies and reducing injury rates in cyclists.
Ben currently holds an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) Fellowship that focusses on developing and evaluating injury prevention strategies for road trauma. Ben also conducts an array of research with the Victorian State Trauma Registry (VSTR) and the Victorian Orthopaedic Trauma Outcomes Registry (VOTOR).
